Moving To Japan

Bob Sayre

It's hard to believe that we've been in Japan for 3 weeks now. Thank you for praying, giving, interceding and spreading the word about the huge need in Japan! It’s astounding to walk down the street and realize that no one you encounter is a Christian. Some estimate that the Christian population in Japan is about .03%. That means that less than half of 1% of 127 million people have a relationship with Jesus. The chances of running into a Christian are slim to none. We’ve gotta do something about this.

Check out all of the photos below for some of the great things that have happened in the first few weeks of being in Japan. Believe with us as we break ground & pioneer a new work here. The best is yet to come!

They gave us a big welcome at Osaka Gospel Church! This is the church we'll be helping as we learn the language.

Osaka Gospel Church was originally pioneered by John & Ruth Bell over 60 years ago! It's an honor to minister at this church.

Here we are being introduced to the church & explaining why God has called us to Japan. The Great Commission must be fulfilled!

The best ministry is always done by the whole family working together.

Most churches in Japan share a meal after the service. We enjoy the weekly fellowship of these faithful saints!

We're so glad that Bob Sayre, Bobby's dad, was able to come to Japan for two weeks to help us get settled. This was especially needed after the emotional loss of Cindy Sayre a few weeks ago.

Here we are with the Cathcart family at the Osaka Aquarium, getting familiar with the metropolis of over 19 million that we'll be working in. The Cathcarts have been instrumental in helping us get settled in Japan.

Here we are sharing a traditional Japanese meal with a pastor and his family. Japanese like to eat their meals sitting down on comfortable Tatami mats.

Here we are in Gojo, enjoying the beautiful scenery. We'll be staying in Gojo until we move to a permanent home in a few weeks. Gojo is just outside Osaka.
